25-35cm Dieffenbachia’Compacta’ | Leopard Lilly | 9cm Pot | By Plant Theory
The Dieffenbachia is a great houseplant for beginners wanting to add something easy to care for but with big impact to their indoor collection. Originally from Mexico and the West Indies, these beautiful plants have large paddle-shaped leaves that unfurl from a central stem. This Compacta variety has variegated leaves in a dark green and speckled cream, giving it the nickname of leopard plant. Dieffenbachias also carry another common name of Dumb Cane for the fact that their sap if ingested can cause temporary loss of speech… don’t worry though, large quantities would need to be ingested for this effect to occur and the plant is otherwise harmless. A great plant with large dramatic leaves.
